Research facilities

The Institute of Automation of modern equipment includes, among other things:

  • industrial robots: Kawasaki FS003N, IRP-6 with belt conveyor and rotating table,
  • SCARA robot with conveyor belt and vision system,
  • two industrial-educational robots with electric drives,
  • pneumatic-electric cartesian manipulator,
  • wheeled mobile robots: Khepera, Hemisson, 2x LabVIEW Robotics, 10x micromouse,
  • bipedal robot Robonova and reconfigurable robot Bioloid,
  • software for modeling and simulation of robots: EasyRob and Webots PRO,
  • stereo-vision stage control system,
  • laboratory station for prototyping of algorithms for electromechanical control systems with particular emphasis on drive systems equipped with signal processors (dSPACE, Techno-soft), measuring card (National Instruments) and software (Matlab, Labview),
  • research station equipped with SIMATIC S7-315 DP and STEP7 ver.4.0, S7-SCL ver.4.0, coupled through a dSpace 1102 acquisition-control card with a computer simulating any controlled plant; stand allows for a practical test for complex control algorithms useful in computer systems for industrial automation,
  • research station equipped with microprocessor controllers based on Texas Instruments DSP signal processors controlling a voltage inverter and induction motor for rapid prototyping of drive systems for traction,
  • research station equipped with microprocessor controllers based on Texas Instruments TMS Lab module with eZdsp TMS320 F2812 for research of new algorithms:
  • control robust to changes of intertia in DC drive system,
  • adaptive control with control parameter tuning using plant identification based on the analysis of signals in the series expansions Walsh.

Teaching classes take place in modern laboratories and specialized computer labs including:

  • PLC laboratory,
  • electric drive automation laboratory,
  • laboratorium of robot control,
  • mobile robot laboratory,
  • embedded and vision systems laboratory,
  • "robotics for man" laboratory,
  • laboratory of microprocessor techology (getting familiar with the construction and operation of the universal microprocessor controller, programming in assembler, practical access to peripheral devices of microprocessor controller, programming in high level language),
  • digital systems laboratory (includes practical learning of the principles of the operation of common digital components and the basic structures of programmable PLD: GAL and PAL)
  • laboratory of analog circuits (practical learning of principles of the common semiconductor devices and their application to building analog circuits),
  • computer control systems laboratory (use of commercial programs for visualization and monitoring of industrial processes in real time).
